Vocation to the congregation of the Sisters of Eucharistic Heart of Jesus is a call to bear witness to the love which Christ has shown us by giving us himself in the Eucharist. It is  an invitation to share one’s life in community with the sisters as together they seek the face of God. It is a vowed life in community as sisters work and pray together.

Qualities:

A candidate should have a desire to enter the religious life, which is based on a supernatural motive, for instance, to save one’s soul and /or to make Christ known in the world. The person must not be more than 40 years of age.

STAGES OF FORMATION

Aspirancy: This is the beginning of discernment when one visits on a regular basis one of the convents of the sisters to get acquainted with the way of life of sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. The duration differs according to each individual.

Postulancy:

 

 This is also known as Pre-Novitiate.This  is a one year period when candidates are helped to discern and discover God’s plan for their life in the Congregation. The candidates for the Pre-Novitiate programme will spend this period in a house designated for this purpose under the care and competence of   the Pre-Novitiate Programme directress.

 

 

 

 

 

Novitiate: 

 

This is a two year period which provides time for the novice to grow in knowledge, understanding and appreciation of religious life in general and of the sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Institute in particular. It provides the novice the space and time to integrate her response to Christ with that of the community of the Sisters. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Temporary Profession:

At the end of the two year period, the novices take temporal vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Within a six year period the sister, renews temporal vows for one year, three years, one year for consecutive two year period before the final vows.

 

Final Profession:

 This is the last step of initial formation. This is followed by a lifelong ongoing development in relationship with God where a sister continues to deepen her commitment to the religious life.
