So you have decided that the religious life is not for you-but-you feel a calling to a deeper relationship with God. Have you considered becoming an Associate of our order? As an associate you would share in the Spirituality of the Sisters of the EHJ and an opportunity to increase your knowledge of our Catholic Faith.
After a period of discernment we do not take vows but make promises on our inauguration day-the Titular Feast Day of the order-the Feast of Corpus Christi.
Our Aims:
To attend daily mass
To participate once a month in adoration at the chapel with the sisters
To pray the Divine Office on a daily basis
Daily meditation of the gospel
To participate in the days of recollection organized for a Saturday in Lent and one in Advent to help deepen our spirituality
To participate with the Sisters of the EHJ in the works of Evangelization
To foster greater understanding and co-operation between the Sisters and the laity
To pray for and encourage vocations to the religious life
As Associates we meet once a month to pray and discuss issues affecting the Associates and our affiliation with the Sisters. For example -we helped plan and organize the Mass celebrating the Year of the Priest held at St. Michael’s and the Benefit Concert for the Home for the Needy. Recently we helped with the planning and organizing of their ten year anniversary in the Diocese of Halifax.
We certainly would like to have more join us in our spiritual journey.
If you would like to learn more-please come and join us for Saturday morning mass at St. Gabriel’s Convent- Chapel 9am. There is time to socialize after mass with a cup of coffee –Friends and Associates of the order. Stay for Adoration at 10:30 -11:30 if you chose.
